A lone ronin of Uikku, exiled two years prior. A sellsword who undersells himself is either thirsty for blood or death, though for Saburo, both are true. He shamed his kin of the Spirit Samurai and has walked a lonesome road since. Cut off from his Spirit Ancestors, Saburo’s only solace is in the bloody path he paints behind him, or in an honourable death.

The Spirit Samurai of Uikku are a clandestine order that seeks to keep a spiritual balance within their land, one which is constantly awash with war and strife. Their jobs have always proved difficult, and for Saburo, this much was clear from the start. Though at first he proved resilient to the weariness set upon him by his ventures into the Spirit Realm and his communes with his Ancestral Spirits, many of whom were not the benevolent spirits one might hope to be guiding them in such a journey of the mind, body and soul. Often they would taunt his failures, and he would hear the voices of his deceased father scolding him, often as he did as a boy.

When Saburo was unable to save the spirit of a small girl from the watering mouth of a detestable Oni, he was belittled and mocked by his father once again. No anger could be contained from Saburo at that point. The Oni was diced as he unleashed a torrent of cuts upon it, and in one final shout he denounced his ancestors, and his ancestral spirit of the Dragon, one of the most powerful spirits of them all.

He then fell to his knees: weak. The power of all his ancestor’s had suddenly left him. No longer could her hurl boulders, nor leap dozens of feet. A heaviness weighed upon him that he had not felt in years. Ashamed, he left Uikku and the Spirit Samurai in self-imposed exile, never wishing to unveil to them his dishonourable deeds. He journeyed west: lands of blood and gold where a ronin of his capability would be well needed. Thus he found himself in the constant employ of various mercenary factions across Edrador, hoping to find his way to an early grave and an honourable death, or at least quell the guilt in his soul with more atrocities, burying it deeper and deeper.
