A powerful Drow sorcerer whose soul is tied to Glanbeli herself, his magic waxing and waning with the phases of the moon. He is not part of the nomad clan that is embroiled in a desperate war against Vaezirak, but has been summoned at the heed of Glanbeli herself to aid them in their time of need.
Ilvos was stillborn when he emerged from his mother, a baby blue and breathless, entering the world to grief and despair. His mother, consumed by grief, carried the body of her stillborn child with her into the moon pool, submerging them both beneath the waters in her bid to join her infant in whatever afterlife he rested in. Though the divine Glanbeli had other plans for the mother and her babe: within the waters of the moon pool his eyes opened, bright and brilliant, glimmering with the pale blue light of the full moon above.
In the mind of his mother, a gentle voice echoed that her time was yet to come, and like a roaring tide the waters of the pool cast his mother out onto the stony floor above it. This miracle was hidden from all but those present to witness it, for the last thing Ilvos’ mother wanted for her child was for him to become some strange paragon or prophet, ripped from her care and paraded by the Temple of Glanbeli. Instead, she did her best to raise him as normally as she could within her matron’s circle. In the end, however, that proved difficult. Ilvos had manifested peculiarities that were difficult to ignore, his pale-blue radiant eyes being the most obvious, though relatively harmless compared to the others. For Ilvos’ soul was tied directly to the phases of the moon, his health failing every new moon, yet on the full moon he was full of vigor and the powers of Minera’s Breath surged through him to calamitous effects. When he was still a child, the Temple found him, taking him into their care to both study him and guide him, seeing that he was a living miracle of Glanbeli, but also might be their undoing if raised in ignorance of his powers and potential.
Though Ilvos was raised within the temple, he was not forbidden from seeing his mother, a directive issued by the High Priestess herself who would see it as only causing anguish, and potentially fuelling further destructive bouts. In time this strange new life became the norm, and Ilvos found himself growing a deep love and admiration for his cohort and guardians within the temple. Now as an adult he has voluntarily dedicated his life to serving his people, the Glanbelites of Lo Fuin. With him as the embodiment of a part of Glanbeli’s divine will and powers, the Temple hopes he might be the answer to casting down the lies of Irinax and bring some of their kin to the light. In that mission, Ilvos now finds himself in a roadblock, beset by forces of Irinax allying themselves to some foul fungal-filled monstrosity calling itself Vaezirak. He will be forced to use all his combined knowledge to put up a fight against the monstrosity, with the backing of a small contingent of other servants of Glanbeli.
