Brought into the WEHL after living in the wilderness of Belfrie for most of her life, Tekrana offers her employers a unique skillset and bloodlust that makes her perfect for the kind of monster hunting that doesn’t require a beast be captured alive. Tekrana’s bloodlust in battle fully encompasses her mind and body, seeing her become completely unresponsive until her or her foe lie in a bloody mess.
Dotted through the wilderness of Belfrie are several “free” tribes of Orcs who refused to swear fealty to the Kingdom of Belfrie, rejecting the sanctuary of Mastania and instead choosing to live on the land that harboured them to safety from the freedom of slavery. The Bloodfangs are one such tribe, who occupy a small region in Formire Forest, living within the protected woods as brigands and poachers. Tekrana’s presence was unique in her tribe, however, as she was raised within the confines of Belfrian society, in the town of Volosvio. When she was still young, she heard rumours of these free orcs not bound by the laws of the king, living freely in the forests. She had always longed to be with her people, and though Orcs were tolerated within Belfrie, she knew she would never be seen as equal by her peers.
For the next two years she longed for more information about them, gathering rumours from travellers, transcribing potential maps for their locations. Once she was confident she could find them, she left with a supply of rations and the clothes on her back, leaving her mother and father behind. Her theories for locations of the tribe proved true, having found them after just a few days of searching the forest. Initially, they had little care for the half-breed. Her Orcish was fractured, commonized and soft, just as her features upon her face. To them, she was no more an Orc than she was a human to those in Volosvio. This was a grim reality for her, that took weeks to set in through her unsuccessful attempts to continue begging them to take her.
Eventually, one member in the tribe unleashed a hurl of insults towards her, in a bid to finally be rid of her. They were cruel, yet coated with a stinging truth that twisted at her gut, in a way that sent her over the edge. Rage filled up the voids left by sadness, and in an unbridled anger, she leapt at him mid-tirade. Against the forest floor, she pounded his head, leaving it a bloody mess as her rage overpowered him, even with his grown strength. The surprise and ferocity of the attack gave him no chance to defend himself, and ultimately he succumbed to his injuries. Rather than punish the young girl for the attack, they instead revered her, taking on a male twice her size unarmed, and easily killing him. Finally, they accepted her. Rage became her weapon, and it seemed when it overtook her, there was little that could stop her until whatever was in front of her lay in a bloody pile. The Bloodfangs ensured they were absent from her sight whenever she entered this state, for though they respected the young halfbreed, they feared her equally.
When the WEHL were brought into Formire Forest to deal with the tribal poachers, Tekrana was their first sign of resistance, though they were surprised to find a half-orc among them, even if she had fallen into feral savagery since her abandonment of civilization. Despite her attempts to slay the WEHL members, she was captured, alongside most of her kin who were sent back to Mastania, where they would either live with the rest of their kin, or perish to the rules of nature. Tekrana, however, was recognised as the missing child from Volosvio from a decade prior. But her parents, after learning of her story and voluntarily disappearance, no longer wished to be reunited with their daughter. With little options for resolution, an Orcish commanding officer in the WEHL recommended she be recruited as a hunter, after hearing the stories of Tekrana from the Bloodfangs during their relocation. By tempering her rage and honing her civility in a bid to return to a semi-civilized life, Tekrana has become a valuable member of the WEHL, and a respected hunter capable of slaying powerful beasts, though capturing them alive currently eludes her skillset.
