A Selvaneri of Namneri who fell from grace long ago, ultimately rejected his patron’s notion of death’s inevitability, thinking his enforcing of it to be cruel and unjust. Nosmarka could sense the swaying of the Selvaneri’s devotion after centuries of servitude, and merely tipped the scales to push him over the edge. Gresnos thus was cast out of Syelden, and taken in under the wicked wings of Nosmarka, rebuilt as an antithesis to the divine he once served.

A Selvaneri of Namneri who became disillusioned with the tenets and actions of his divine. Gresnos found Namneri’s apathy to death and suffering to be cold, calloused and unreasonable, thinking the divine to be selfish to ensure that even those who might try avoid death’s grasp are forced to bear it. He questioned his divine for these machinations, believing them to be an evil of themself. It was here he learnt that there was one who once thought like him long ago, the dark goddess Mindoriel, one of the Dormeni and sister to Tharador. She too thought that the creation of mortals: beings born and doomed to die, was an evil of her brother’s and sought to instead show mercy on them by annihilating them, so they could never endure the suffering of living.

Gresnos came to hold a similar mindset, though he was more focused on making exemptions for the undying who prolonged their existence with unnatural magicks. Such evils as these were, he could not fault the mortals for their desperation in clawing away from death, for it had claimed him as well in his own time as a mortal, and its reward was being bound to Namneri, who only used him to ensure the cycle continued. Namneri thus saw the wavering heart of Gresnos and cast him out of Syelden, stripping him of his wings and body as a Selvaneri and dooming him to walk the spiritual plains as a wayward soul like so many others.

It took but a fleeting moment for the soul of a wandering Selvaneri to be coveted by Nosmarka and her ilk, appearing to the wayward spirit directly rather than luring it to the depths. Nosmarka spoke earnestly to Gresnos, inviting him to her fold, to which he gladly accepted, reborn as a Demon of the Fifth Abyss of Oblivion, where he would now work in service against his old master, aiming to ensure those who were met with death would not be pulled back into the cyclical machinations of the Tharameni.
