An enforcer employed by Baldur’s Crown, though one with a creative spark and inventive mind. Brandyn Broadoak a the shining star of Baldurian innovation, and the rugged, manly face of the Baldurian Inventor’s Society next to his rival Derek Matthews. His inventions, though still prototypes, are poised to change the face of the Baldurian army and law enforcement when mass production for them one day becomes viable. Until then, he wields them exclusively for himself as he carries out his duties to the realm.

A city guard of Grimgate born and raised in the city’s upper echelon, with his father as an officer in the city guard and his mother an esteemed socialite. Brandyn was inspired by workings of the Baldurian Inventor’s Society from a young age, delving into engineering and tinkering after the Society visited his academy for a demonstration. Brandyn thus joined the city guard as was expected of him when he finished his basic education, though pursued a doctorate in engineering thereafter, studying in the day and working the graveyard shift as a night watchman.

It was during one of these shifts that Brandyn had his first brush with death, after attempting to apprehend a petty gang who had broken into a storefront on a moonless night. Brandyn was met with their blades, and there was little his breastplate could do against a swarm of knives thrust into every gap in his armour. His survival was miraculous to say the least, with his critical organs barely missed by the flurry of blades. Recovery for the young guard took nigh on a year before he could return to his guard duties, yet in that time he instead honed his mind, finishing his study at university and becoming a fledgling member of the Baldurian Inventors’ Society, pioneering his Electric Baton and Expandable Service Shield which he hoped would reinvigorate Baldur’s lawmen in their fights against the criminals of the kingdom, who were quickly growing better armed and armoured than ever before.

When he returned to duty, he was given the opportunity to field test his inventions, and though they had a few kinks and quirks to work out, his first confrontation proved the concept successful. Though the final result saw the perpetrator killed by the electric shock instead of stunned, the officers of the guard thought that this could perhaps be instead employed as a lethal weapon, instead of non-lethal. Thus Brandyn was given an order to expand the weapon’s production and testing, something he was all too happy to do. Thus he became the face of both Grimgate’s guard and its close relation to the BIS, showcasing the Society’s endeavour to improve the lives of its citizens, by better equipping its law enforcement and guards.
