On the dawn of the solstice, he drew the blood of his brother-in-training in self defence. None would listen to his claims, believing him to be cursed, the mark of the black sun appearing on his chest thereafter, a mark denoting him as a bad omen. For his crime his was exiled from Hinatal, though has since embraced his cursed identity, now returning to Hinatal with renewed ill omens to inflict upon them.

Vendimar Thyran was meant for Glanion. He was raised in the kind of reverence that turns a child into a symbol, trained among other aspirants who believed their lives would be clean, righteous, and seen. He learned the rites, the vows, the public discipline of a paladin, and he carried it with the quiet certainty of someone who thinks destiny is a straight road. In Hinatal, that faith is not merely personal. It is civic. A paladin of Glanion is a beacon, and Vendimar was shaped to become one.

On the dawn of the solstice, that road split. What happened was not a grand fall from grace, but something uglier and more human. Blood was drawn in a place where it should never have been spilled. Vendimar killed his brother-in-training, and he did it in self defence. That truth did not save him. The order did not want complexity, and the city did not want uncertainty. Rumour moved faster than testimony, and fear dressed itself as righteousness. When the black sun mark appeared on Vendimar’s chest, it became the only evidence anyone cared to see. In a city that worships light and unity, an omen is not debated. It is cast out.

Exile did not break him. It simplified him. The further Vendimar travelled from Hinatal’s towers, the more he realised how quickly devotion turns into cruelty when it is threatened. He stopped pleading his innocence and stopped trying to be understood. If the city wanted a curse, he would be one. He learned to wear the black sun as a sigil rather than a stain, and he found purpose in the very fear that had been used to condemn him. Now he returns to Hinatal not to beg for redemption, but to prove a point. They branded him as ill omen. He intends to make them remember why they believed it.
