Gorr as a child witnessed the slaughter of his family, friends, everyone he ever knew, while he cowered in nearby shrubs with his sister. He promised to his dying mother he would exact vengeance on everyone that had a hand in the slaughter of that fateful day. Having beheaded or gored most of the slavers and soldiers involved, his sole remaining target is the Field Marshal himself.

Born to the Braka Clan’s Shaman and a human who had aided in the clan’s first escape from bondage, Gorr always found himself in touch with the spiritual side of his people and the land they found themselves in. They were nomads, having fled from the jungles of Ukrondia to wander the mountainscapes and foothills in Baldur’s drylands. In this inhospitable place, slavers would often struggle to track or pursue them, not just for the battle against the difficult terrain, but the monstrosities it hid as well. Yet the years they could continue to evade the slavers were fleeting, especially as the clan turned to raiding small settlements and farms for food and resources, earning them the ire of local law enforcement who stacked a hefty bounty on the tribe.

Gorr watched in horror as those bounty hunter’s came for their claim of gold, having set a trap at goat farm where they caught a dozen of the tribe’s raiders. Using the Breath, they were able to rip from the minds of the survivors where the clan was camping that night, and amidst the darkness the hunters pounced on their prey. The sound of gunfire echoed in the valley air as volleys of bullets, shrapnel and fire were unleashed on the unsuspecting Orcs. Gorr was carried to a bush by his father, stashed there and told to wait as he went to look for his other siblings, though his father never returned and the hellish screams of his kin rang out for only a few more minutes before they came to a final, eerie silence.

The bounty hunters scalped who they could and left as quick as they’d arrived. Dawn broke hours later, as the flames of the camp withered to smouldering ash. Among the corpses, his kin became indistinguishable – their bodies charred and mutilated from the battle, and those few who were spared by flame had their scalps or heads removed. His father was one of those, the only corpse among them to not bear the orcish dark olive green skin. Though his body had been completely butchered, riddled with stab wounds after his death and his head cleaved hence. Gorr wept by its side for hours. Only when the next dawn broke he realised he could not remain here, and he chose to descend the mountains to the plains below, where he would sow his quest for vengeance, living off the land with occasional trips into small settlements for years, trading pelts and meat for weapons and armour. All the while the spirits of his fallen kin haunted him, looming over his mind and soul, incessant reminds of what he lost, and what he was fighting for.

Twenty years have passed since then. In that time he was able to track down most of the bounty hunters that slew his family, ensuring each of them died in view of their own children where he could, ensuring they would suffer as he had suffered. Though with each life taken, he would renew the cycle of violence and vengeance, the children and widows swearing oaths of vengeance against him, throwing piles of coin to local bounty hunters to bring his head back, yet none succeeded. Now he finds himself in Grimhelm, the military capital of Baldur, having just slain one of his final targets, with only one more left: Field Marshal Kurt Williams, now the military ruler of Baldur, though he was the head of the Mandril Vilor at the time of his clan’s destruction, and signed the contract that was their death warrant. He will finally find his rest when the Field Marshal lays dead, though the current turbulent atmosphere of the city means that getting to the Marshal will be a difficult task, and he will be forced to side with the rebels in the city to achieve his goal.
